400-yr-old temple burgled

Basti, July 12 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants burgled an ancient temple here and decamped with precious brass idols worth several lakhs of rupees in the international market.

Police Superintendent Anand Swaroop today said the miscreants broke open the doors of a 400-year-old temple in Lalganj area and decampled with the idols of Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman, weighing seven kg each.

A hunt to nab the accused was on.
