3 arrested, 60 kg hashish seized

Mumbai, July 12 (UNI) The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths have arrested three persons and claim to have recovered 60 kg of hashish, valued at Rs 50 lakh, from their possession.

The seizure, one of the largest hashish hauls in recent days, came close on the heels of another haul on July 1 when NCB sleuths seized 21 kg of hashish from three persons.

According to a NCB release, two persons -- Nasirali Sheraali Khan and Shakeel Habib Khan -- were on their way to deliver 20 kg of hashish to one Jayram Wadhwa on July seven. The NCB sleuths intercepted their car and found the hashish. The arrest of the duo led the NCB to Jayram Hirachandrai Wadhwa, a resident of Bandra.

Subsequently, during the search of Wadhva's house in Bandra, another 40 kg of hashish was recovered, the release added.

Investigations have revealed that the seized hashish had arrived in Mumbai from Jammu.
