Bareilly, July 11 (UNI) With a view to providing royal treatment to passengers, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is all set to run 'Palace on Wheels' on road.

The bus service, a namesake of the 'Palace on Wheels' of the Railways, will render equally comfortable amenities to the passengers, UPSRTC managing director Sanjay Bhoosreddy today told UNI here.

He said the Corporation had signed a contract with the Tourism Department to provide AC bus services on the Delhi-Agra-Jaipur route.

The bus service is touted to be no less luxurious than its train counterpart and the passenger would be given food and lodging in the tourism department hotels.

He further informed that care would be taken to ensure complete transparency in the purchase of AC buses for the ambitious bus service.

Meanwhile, the Corporation was keen on hiring bus drivers and conductors on contract basis, for which a transparent policy would be formulated, he added.

Mr Bhoosreddy also apprised of plans to set up new bus stations on the Delhi-Shahjahanpur bypass.
