MPHC directive on Omkareshwar

Jabalpur, July 11 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the state government to submit a detailed report on problems of 22 villages' residents affected by Khandwa district's Omkareshwar Dam Project.

Acting on a public interest plea by the Narmada Bachao Andolan's Rajendra Singh and others who alleged that the oustees were neither adequately compensated nor provided land, justices Deepak Mishra and Shantanu S Kemkar yesterday directed that a meeting be convened involving collectors of Khandwa, Dewas, Harda districts, the Narmada Hydroelectric Development Corporation and oustees' representatives.
