Keep strict vigil on Pak developments: Rajnath

Indore, July 11: BJP President Rajnath Singh today urged the Indian government to keep strict vigil on the 'unusual' developments in Pakistan in the wake of the encounter between terrorists and army personnel and sought suspension of talks between both countries.

''We should be vigilant as Jehadis were attempting to gain control in Pakistan'', he told reporters here on the sidelines of a training camp for BJP MPs and MLAs from Madhya Pradesh.

Referring to reported printing of Indian currency in Pakistan, he said it was an appalling situation threatening our internal security. India failed on diplomatic front also, he added.

Mr Singh appealed the government to take necessary steps to ensure that hatred was not targetted against the Indian community in the wake of terrorist activities in Britain.

''Centre shall take stringent action against terrorists. Security forces had become vulnerable in the absence of firm policies'', he said.

For the sake of its vote bank, the UPA government was playing with social equality by proposing reservation on communal lines, he said.

Replying to a question, the BJP chief said the results of Uttar Pradesh Assembly election were analysed threadbare and caution would be taken not to repeat mistakes.

Asked whether any campaign on the lines of ''Feel Good'' slogan would be launched in the run-up to next elections, Mr Singh said people had lost their faith in slogans.
