HCL Tech partners with Japan's Konica Minolta

New Delhi, July 11: HCL Technologies Ltd today said it has openedan Offshore Development Centre in Chennai in partnership withJapan-based Konica Minolta Group (KM) to provide software services forKM's multi function peripherals (MFPs), printers and medical equipmentbusiness lines.

The software services provided by the company will support theJapanese language in order to communicate accurately with KM'sresearchers.

The contract is of three years and extendable thereafter everyyear in which the five business companies of KM will outsource ProductEngineering work to HCL, the company said in a statement.

''Japan is the next market that HCL is looking on to sign bigpartnerships. The company expects around 30 million dollar worth ofbusiness in three years through this deal,'' HCL Japan Ltd Presidentand Representative Director Selvatharasu Sadagoparamanujam said.

The company's Japan business units based in Chennai and Noida willprovide the necessary Japanese support for fulfilling this partnership.

It will develop software for Konica Minolta's innovative products to be distributed to the global market.
