Former technocrat denied bail
Patna, July 11 (UNI) Special vigilance judge, Patna, S K Panwar today rejected a bail plea of an incarcerated retired executive engineer of Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) in connection with a disproportionate asset case.
After hearing the arguments, the designated judge rejected the bail petition of accused Kapildev Singh, who was in judicial custody since July 9 after his arrest from Rajgir by the vigilance bureau.
According to the charges, the accused had amassed wealth of over Rs 48.33 lakh, disproportionate to his all known sources of income during 1958 to 1982.
The case was registered in 1997.
