Former MLA sent to jail

Sultanpur, July 11 (UNI) Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and former MLA Safdar Raza Khan was today sent to jail in connection with an abduction case.

On June 16, 1996, Mr Khan and three others were charged with kidnapping Ram Shabad Yadav.

According to sources, the SP leader surrendered before Judicial Magistrate Naveen Kumar Singh, following a non-bailable warrant issued against him three months back.

The court rejected Mr Khan's bail application and sent him under 14 day judicial custody.
