Advani's effigy burnt, Cong workers arrested

Indore, July 11: Senior BJP leader L K Advani was burnt in effigy by Congress workers here today for levelling 'baseless' allegations against UPA presidential nominee Pratibha Patil.

Police used mild force to disperse the Congress workers at Regal crossing and few workers were injured. Five Congress workers were arrested, Additional District Magistrate Rameshwar Gupta said.

Mr Advani, while addressing a BJP training camp here yesterday, disowned the BJP's hand in digging out charges against Mrs Patil and said the media across the country had unearthed the charges.

Meanwhile, Congress MLA Premchand Guddu condemned Mr Advani for levelling charges against Mrs Patil and demanded that a criminal case be registered against the senior BJP leader.
