Villagers resort to agitation for basic facilities

Puducherry,July 10(UNI) The villagers of Saidarapet near here today locked the Primary Health Centre in their village and held a demonstration before the Centre to press their demands.

They were demanding among other things, provision for round-the- clock ambulance service and availability of doctors from 0800 hours to 1400 hours on all days.

The senior health officials rushed to the spot and held talks with the agitators.

The villagers called off their agitation following an assurance that steps would be taken to redress their grievences.
