Retd executive engineer sent to jail in DA case

Patna, July 10 (UNI) Patna Special Vigilance Judge S K Panwar has remanded a retired Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) executive engineer to judicial custody in Disproportionate Asset (DA) case.

Accused Kapildev Singh was produced by vigilance officials before the judge after his arrest from Rajgir yesterday.

The court sent the retired PHED employee Mr Singh to jail till July 27.

According to the charges, the accused had amassed over Rs 48.33 lakh wealth, disproportionate to his all known sources of income during 1958 to 1982.

The case was registered in 1997, while he was posted at Bhagalpur.
