Union Labour Minister Oscar visits Nagaland
Kohima, July 10: Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes has said the UPA and Left-party's Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil will arrive at Guwahati on Saturday to campaign for the Presidential elections.
Mr Fernandes, who is also the AICC General Secretary-In-charge of North East, arrived here by a helicopter from Itanagar and landed at Dimapur airport at around 1330 hrs yesterday and left for Chumukedima, the Police Complex, where he held discussions with the senior Congress leaders about the Presidential elections scheduled on July 19.
Talking to reporters at Dimapur, Mr Fernandes said this time he had come with a political mission and he would be meeting the NSCN-IM leaders after the Presidential elections, to discuss the extension of cease-fire between both the parties, which expires on July 31.
Mr Fernandes will leave for New Delhi this afternoon.
