Nick White Air Deccan's Tech wing Dy COO

Mumbai, Jul 10: India's budget carrier, Air Deccan today announced the appointment of Mr Nick White as Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Technical).

In his current position, he would be responsible for maintaining fleet reliability, managing aircraft performance and supervising flight operations. He will assume responsibility for the direct management and administration of all aircraft maintenance activities, a company statement said today.

Mr Nick has over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry.

He began his career with Britannia Airways, a U K based airline in 1975 as an engineer and went on to become the Engineering and Maintenance Director for the same Airline.

Having acquired an extensive management background in maintenance and technical operations, he also has experience in supply chain management, logistics and purchasing.

Commenting on Mr Nick's appointment, Capt G R Gopinath, Executive Chairman, Air Deccan said, '' Nick White, who has himself risen through the ranks and acquired extensive experience in the field of aircraft maintenance at Britannia Airways, a well established and reputed airline, fits our needs perfectly.'' ''His skill and experience will play a crucial role in charting Air Deccan's path to achieving reliable and excellent on-time performance and 100 per cent dispatch reliability and schedule completion,'' he added.
