Jawan arrested for molestation, bailed out

Itanagar, July 10 (UNI) Constable Narayan Singh Bist of 23 Assam Rifles had been arrested by Longding Police for allegedly molesting a woman in a bus in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The incident occurred in a bus which was on its way from Khonsa to Longding in the state's Tirap district.

The jawan was bashed up by some people at Longding before he landed up in police lockup on Sunday last. He was produced before the magistrate yesterday and later released on bail.

While condemning the act, Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women chairperson Jarjum Ete demanded exemplary punishment to restore people's faith in the Armed Forces.
