Five die in a road accident in Orissa

Rourkela, Jul 10: Five people were killed and two others injured when a jeep carrying them was hit by a rig mounted truck after a collision with a Crane near Pahadibag, about 25 km from here today.

Police said the rig mounted truck hit the crane near the Vedvyas Chhak at a time when the jeep was on its way to Sambalpur.

The Jeep was dragged by the truck to a distance, killing four people on the spot, while another victim succumbed to his injury at the hospital.

Two others critically injured in the accident, had been admitted to the Rourkela Ispat General Hospital, police said.
