Firing wounds seven
Bareilly, July 10 (UNI) Seven people sustained severe bullet wounds in police firing following a clash in Parsa Kheda area here today.
A dispute between an ice cream factory labourer, Dinesh Yadav, and scavenger Aman snowballed into a full-fledged clash.
The situation worsened when Dinesh's supporters pelted the ice cream factory with stones after being stopped by security personnel from storming into it.
To disperse the mob, security officials fired several rounds in the air, wounding seven severly.
The injured were rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
Incensed over the matter, angry people blocked the national highway leading to traffic snarl for couple of hours.
The agitators could only be brought under control after a case was registered against factory manager C L Prashwar, Dinesh and others, police said.
Additional police force has been deployed to prevent any fresh violence as a precautionary measure.
