Cong MLA demands impartial inquiry into tussle

Hyderabad, July 10 (UNI)Senior Congress Leader and MLA P Janardhana Reddy today demanded an impartial inquiry into Sunday's road incident involving his son and Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's brother and his son.

Addressing a press conference along with his wife here, he said the registering of attempt to murder charges under Section 307 against his son and his son-in-law was politically motivated and tarnished his family's image.

He said it was not a family dispute as described by some of his party leaders. There was no personal dispute between his family members and the chief minister's family. It was entirely politically motivated as he had been raising several issues concerning the public.

He described the arrest of his son and son-in-law as unilateral action and demanded the similar cases against Mr Rajasekhara Reddy's brother and his son 'who created problem for their family members.' Though he requested the Chief Minister's brother not to precipitate the matter in the interest of the Congress Party, the Chief Minister's brother, Mr Ravinder Reddy, did not oblige.

He had not faced such humilitation during TDP rule though he had fought on several issues concerning the poor.

Mr Reddy demanded the suspension of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Mr Madhusudhana Reddy, who, he alleged, acted with 'over enthusiasm''.

The police treated him and his family members as criminals though he was a sincere Congress worker, he claimed.

He had been receiving threatening calls since 2005 and had informed the police. He received one such call yesterday evening threatening to eliminate him and his son if he did not put an end to the issue, the Congress leader claimed.

Mr Reddy said he would announce his future course of action after discussing the matter with his well wishers.
