BJP's main ally UKD differs in government decision

Dehradun, July 10 (UNI) Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD), an ally of the ruling BJP in the state, has layed the Government's decision of not increasing the number of districts to 23 from the existing 13.

Addressing a press conference today, UKD senior leader Kashi Singh Airy said his party was adamant in its demand to form 10 more districts in the state and would continue to appeal to the the government. He maintained that several times people have agitated for the issue and so, the state Government should take positive steps in this direction.

Mr Airy, supporting the ammendment bill pertaining to land passed by the Khanduri government, said though it was in accordance with public interest, Cantt and urban areas should also be included so that people with meagre earnings could construct houses in cities. He said his party also demanded that concerned person should be given appropriate partnership in the hotel or institution made on his land in Himachal Pradesh.

Mr Airy, while expressing concern over Government officers not following the Chief Minister's instructions to transfer workers of Uttar Pradesh cadre said they were conspiring to bring in 290 more workers from UP to Uttarakhand instead of releasing 33 UP workers. Disclosing that this has infuriarated many organisations, he demanded immediate government intervention.
