BJP MLA Sanjay Kute in magisterial custody
Nagpur, July 10 (UNI) BJP MLA Sanjay Kute was remanded to custody till July 21 after he surrendered before a magistrate in the Buldhana district of Vidarbha region in a case pertaining to alleged obstruction of a government official.
Mr Kute surrendered yesterday before Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) C P Bhagwat at Jalgaon-Jamod in the district. He was later given magisterial custody remand (MCR) till July 21, official sources said.
Earlier, the JMFC had issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Kute for failing to appear before the court in spite of being given summons in the case, which is about a year old, the sources said.
During an agitation on September 25 last over compensation for the rain-hit, Mr Kute allegedly had a heated argument with Tehsildar D M Hade in Sangrampur in the district, they said. The police had registered an offence against Mr Kute on the basis of a complaint from Mr Hade, the sources added.
