New Delhi, July 10 (UNI) A city court today issued arrest warrant against an Uttar Pradesh police sub-inspector in the Nitish Katara murder case for failing to appear before the court despite summons.

Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur issued bailable warrant against J K Gangwar, who recovered the hammer used in the murder of Nitish.

The judge fixed July 27 as the next date of hearing.

Another accused Sukhdev Pahelwan, who was allegedly hired by prime accused Vikas and Vishal Yadav to murder Katara and who disposed off the body, did not join the probe in 2002 and was declared a proclaimed offender.

A separate trial was started against him when he appeared before the court in 2005.

Vikas and Vishal Yadav, son and nephew of former Rajya Sabha MP D P Yadav, murdered Nitish after kidnapping him as they did not approve of his relationship with their sister Bharti.
