Army launches operations against ULFA, kills one
Guwahati, July 10 (UNI) The 19 Kumaon Regiment has launched a major operation against the outlawed ULFA in the interiors of the Manabum Reserve forest, bordering Changlang and Tinsukia districts in Arunachal Pradesh and Asom respectively.
Sources informed that a camp of the outfit was busted and a rebel killed today, with possibility of casualities going up as the operation proceeds.
The killed ULFA militant is yet to be identified.
An SLR rifle, one AK 47 rifle, 20 detonators, one solar charger, 20 each of SLR live rounds and AK 47 live rounds and magazine were also recovered from the camp.
Besides the arms and ammunition, large stocks of medicines, food supplies and clothing were also found in the seized camp.
The Army had been launching a series of operations in the reserve forests over the past few months with success.
