AP's Genome Valley gets US patent
Hyderabad, Jul 10 (UNI) The Genome Valley here, India's first state-of-the-art biotech cluster providing world-class infrastructure has got Patent rights from the Virginia-headqurtered United States Patent&Trademark Office(USPTO).
Lauding the officials of the Industries and Commerce Department, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy said ''it is matter of pride for Andhra Pradesh, particularly Hyderabad''.
Spread over 600 sq kms, the Genome Valley is a natural cluster for Biotech research, training, collaboration and manufacturing facilities, according to an official release.
It has also been granted a community trademark in the European Union in 2005.
The symbol of ''Genome Valley'' has also been filed in India for registration and was under the process of grant.
