Tamil activists held for burning Govt Orders

Chennai, July 9: About 45 members of the Thalai Nagar Tamil Sangam were arrested when they attempted to burn the English copies of Government Orders in front of poet Bharatidasan statue on the Beach road here today.

Police sources said the slogan-shouting activists were demanding that the GOs be issued only in Tamil.

They were lodged in a marriage hall and were likely to be released in the evening.
