RSS chief condoles Chandra Shekhar's death
New Delhi, July 9 (UNI) Expressing sorrow over former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar's death, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief K C Sudarshan today said, ''a principled and combative politician had vanished from the Indian political horizon.'' The 'Young Turk' was against free economy based on western values as it made the rich richer and poor poorer, said Mr Sudarshan, adding that Mr Chandra Shekhar never compromised with his values for power, even at the cost of relinquishing the country's premiership.
Widely popular across the political spectrum, Mr Chandra Shekhar had friends in all parties, said the RSS chief.
''Today when he is not amongst us, his value system of keeping principles above politics is even more valuable and worth emulating,'' he added.
