One militant killed and another arrested in J

Srinagar, July 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police killed a militant and arrested another alongwith a hand grenade, while unidentified persons set on fire the house hold goods of a person in the state overnight.

A police spokesman said that police and some 17 Dogras killed a militant in an encounter at Gujjar Wasan, in the frontier district of Kupwara today. The encounter ensued after a search party was attacked by the militants.

An official spokesman said police arrested a militant alongwith a hand grenade at Lalpora in the frontier district of Kupwara today.

A group of unidentified persons entered the house of one Bashir Ahmad at Braswana in Doda district of Jammu region and set on fire the house hold goods. However, the house owner escaped unhurt.
