Bhopal, July 9 (UNI) Suspended MLAs of Madhya Pradesh's ruling BJP will not indulge in cross-voting during the presidential election on July 19 and instead poll in favour of NDA-supported candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.

''I had discussions with legislators Gaurishankar Shejwar, Rasal Singh, Hakam Singh Chadar and Jalam Singh Patel. Owing to ideological differences with the Congress and Left parties, we naturally support Dr Shekhawat,'' suspended legislator Sunil Nayak told reporters here today.

Denying that saffron party pressure and the Damocles' sword of discipline led to his announcement, Mr Nayak pointed out that the five MLAs were from RSS background.

''Certain BJP leaders are indulging in propaganda that we will indulge in cross-voting,'' he alleged while demanding a CBI probe into the recent murder of journalist Pawan Jain 'Vidrohi'.

The legislators -- counted among die-hard supporters of Bharatiya Janshakti Founder-President and former Chief Minister Uma Bharti -- were suspended for indiscipline.
