Khandu expresses shock over Chandra Shekhar's death
Itanagar, July 9 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has expressed grief over the demise of former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar in New Delhi after prolonged illness.
Conveying sincere and heartfelt condolence on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh to late Chandra Shekhar's son Pankaj Singh, Mr Khandu said adding Chandra Shekharji named ''Young Turk'' for his conviction and courage, always stood against politics of personality and stoutly opposed policies of liberalisation, reflecting the socialist ideology.
Late Chandra Shekhar was known for his flawless oratory and a matter-of-fact style in which he pulled no punches. He would be hard-hitting in his criticism when the occasion demanded. He was also a great patriot and a social thinker.
Mr Khandu added ''In his death, the nation has lost a great leader, a true nationalist and visionary.'' UNI
