DMK functionary attaked by unidentified gang

Tiruchirapalli, July 9 (UNI) Kambarasanpettai Panchayat Union President and DMK functionary Kudamurutti R Sekhar (45) was today grievously injured following an attack by an unidentified gang at Kambarasampettai on the Tiruchirapalli-Karur highway here.

Polie said Mr Sekhar, walking on the road near his house in broad day light, was waylaid by an unidentified gang. The gang attacked him indiscriminately with wooden logs.

He was also a Member of Board of Trustees of the famous Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple in Srirangam.

The injured was admitted to a private hospital in the city, police said and added the motive behind the attack was not immediately known.
