Three robbers arrested

Bhopal, July 8 (UNI) One robber was arrested by two police constables, while three others managed to escape at Kamla Nagar area in the state capital, police said today.

Four car-borne robbers looted a pedestrian, assaulted him with sharp weapons and stripped him at Kamla Nagar area last night when constable Vinay Sharma passed from the area.

Mr Sharma alerted other police officials and chased the car on his two-wheeler. Although he was fired upon from a countrymade gun, he managed to nab one accused, Anil, while others managed to escape.

The car, a countrymade gun and cartridges were seized.

Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar Singh announced a reward of Rs 3,000 each for constables Vinay Sharma and Ram Singh for their courageous behaviour.

Three other accused have been identified. Police are making efforts to nab them.
