Seagate launches high capacity hard drive

New Delhi, July 8: US- based Seagate Technology has launched the Cheetah NS hard drive, developed for critical enterprise network storage applications with the highest available storage capacity and the lowest power consumption requirement.

The hard drive includes Seagate's PowerTrimT technology making it the lowest price-per-gigabyte and watts-per-gigabyte value an enterprise, said a statement earlier this week.

The Cheetah NS also features up to 33 per cent more capacity at 400 gigabytes along with a 33 per cent reduction in power and cooling requirements.

This additional capacity and reduced cooling profile in the data centre means the Cheetah NS ultimately delivers the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for a wide range of critical enterprise network storage applications, the statement added.
