Bangalore, July 8: The city police have widened the area investigation to probe into the activities of Kafeel and Sabeel Ahmed, the two Bangalore brothers, allegedly involved in the aborted attack on Glasgow airport, while they lived and during their latest visit to the city this year.

The hard disk of the computer, seized from the residence of the Ahmeds in Banashankari II stage here, was been cracked by Cyber police and they had taken a volume of prints of the mails sent from the computer, police sources said.

The police were trying to find out the contacts the brothers had made when they were in the city. They reportedly have come across a contact number written down by Kafeel and trying to ascertain whom it belonged to.

Police also examined the details about the driver's license which was issued by Jaynagar Regional Transport Officer's office in the name of Kafeel.

British police have identified that Kafeel as the jeep driver, which was used in the failed bombing mission of the Glasgow airport.

Earlier British police had arrested Sabeel in Liverpool while on its instance, Australian police arrested another doctor Mohammed Haneef, the third Bangalorean arrested in the case and said to be a relative of the Ahmed brothers.

Meanwhile, a Compact disc which had been found by the police in the residence of the accused reportedly contained jehadi 'material' highlighting the West's 'anti Muslim attitudes'.

Sources said Kafeel had stayed in the city for nearly six months before leaving for England in May this year. Police have been investigating into his activities, while he stayed in the city, and also questioned employees of a software firm in the city where he worked for a short while before leaving for England. Incidentally Sabeel had also visited the city during the same time.

In the absence of any requests from British or Australian police, the city police have been conducting an independent investigation with senior sleuths from City Crime Branch under the guidance of Police Commissioner N Achutha Rao.

The top officials today held a meeting in a undisclosed place and discussed in detail the terrorist activities in the city with the involvement of Ahmed brothers being the centre point. They discussed about the documents seized from the residence of Kaleef, an aeronautical engineer and Sabeel, a Liverpool doctor. The parents who are also doctors by profession live in this house at present.

Police also visited the ancestral home of the Ahmeds in Nagenahalli in Hassan district. The house was however sold by the family long ago. Police were also examining the college documents from National College in Bangalore where Kafeel studied pre-university course and the Engineering College in Davangere where he earned his degree in Engineering.
