History-sheeter held

Agra, July 8 (UNI) The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police here today arrested a wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 5,000.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of the criminal, Ram Gopal, in Transport Nagar in Hari Parwat area, policemen reached the spot and nabbed him.

On being frisked, a pistol and 500 gm charas were recovered from his possession.

Police said the history-sheeter was wanted in connection with the abduction of Ankur Singhal on May 14 in Ferozabad district. Though, the boy was rescued, he had been absconding.

Several cases of murder, loot, dacoity and abduction were pending against Gopal.
