Boy trampled to death by temple elephant

Bangalore, July 8 (UNI) An Eight-year-old boy was trampled to death by a temple elephant while he was offering banana to it at Yediyuru Siddalingeshwara temple in Siddaganga, about 60 km from here today.

Tumkur police said that a family of four, the parents and their two sons, had come to the temple to offer prayers. The two boys, in the absence of their parents, were offering bananas to the elephant when Sachin was trampled by the elephant, his younger brother rushed to his parents to inform the incident. By the time the parents arrived Sachin had died.

Enraged over the incident, devotees ransacked office computer and equipment as no help came by the Temple authorities.

Police rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.
