New Delhi: Blueline kills teenager; family protests

New Delhi, July 8: City's 'killer Bluelines' claimed yet another life this morning with a teenager getting crushed in Vikaspuri area of West Delhi.

Karan Sharma (14) came under the rear wheel of a Blueline while getting down in Vikaspuri at about 0830 hrs, according to the sources.

The boy, a resident of Uttam Nagar who was on his way to play cricket in a nearby park, died on the spot.

Eyewitnesses said he slipped while getting down from the bus plying on route no 883 (Uttam Nagar to ISBT).

Soon after the driver fled the spot.

Later family members and local residents blocked the road near their residence in Uttam Nagar and held demonstrations to protest the death and 'rash driving' by Blueline bus drivers.

Police said a team has been sent to the driver's village, Kharkhoda, in Haryana.

However, it added that there were no witnesses to the incident.

The boy's father Yashpal Sharma works in a private company.
