8 swept away in river

Hoshangabad, MP, July 8 (UNI) Eight people were swept away after a jeep plunged into Denwa river near Hoshangabad district's Matkuli this afternoon, police said.

According to eyewitnesses and preliminary reports, the vehicle was carrying ten people to Pipariya from Pachmarhi. Sandeep Sharma and Akash had a providential escape.

Rain was hampering the search operation, sources said.
