8 swept away in MP river

Hoshangabad, MP, July 8 (UNI) Eight people were swept away after a jeep plunged into the Denwa river near Hoshangabad district's Matkuli this afternoon, police said.

According to eyewitnesses and preliminary reports, the vehicle was carrying ten people to Pipariya from Pachmarhi. Sandeep Sharma and Akash had a providential escape.

Rain is hampering a search for the victims.
