Karnataka: 300 star turtles seized from passenger

Bangalore, July 8: Police seized 300 star turtles from a passenger of Yeshwantpur-Howrah Express train here last night.

Official sources today said a constable on duty got suspicious over six boxes carried by the passenger. On questioning him, it was revealed that the box was filled with star turtles, worth lakhs of rupees in the international market.

Primary investigation revealed that the passenger, hailing from Shivajinagar area in the city, was carrying the boxes to Kolkata.

The passenger was arrested and further investigation is on.
