Two more held in fake currency case
Kolhapur, Jul 7 (UNI) Two more people were arrested today from the powerloom town of Ichalkaranji in this district in connection with the fake currency case, taking the number of people arrested in the case to seven.
The two arrested have been identified as Yuvrao Jitalkar, believed to be the main brain behind the printing of fake currencies and Namdev Sankpal, who allegedly destroyed the printing machinery, an evidence in the case, police said.
Earlier, the police had arrested one Balkrishna Vastare from Ichalkaranji on Tuesday and counterfeit notes worth Rs 55,000 were recovered from him.
Three people, including a couple, were arrested on Wednesday and fake notes worth Rs 2,100 seized from the couple, while fake notes worth Rs 3800 were seized from third one, police sources said and added that on Thursday yet another one was arrested and fake notes worth Rs 1,900 were seized from him.
