Three national swimming records created
Bhopal, July 7 (UNI) Veerdhaval Khade of Maharashtra created another national record in 50 metre freestyle event during the 32nd Junior National Aquatic Championship, which passed into the fourth day today.
Khade overhauled the former best Aniket D'Souza of Karnataka with a timing of 00:23:49.
Karnataka's Pooja Alwa and Maharashtra's Purva Shete also created new national records. While Purva Shete created a new record in 200 metre breast stroke event with a timing of 02:55:37, overwriting her own previous record set of 2006.
Pooja Alwa made a new record with a timing of 02:27:00, in the 200 metre butterfly event breaking her own previous record of 02:28:07.
In the boy's water polo event, Kerala and West Bengal would face each other in the finals.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would distribute awards to the winners on the occasion of the event's conclusion tomorrow evening.
