Prof hearing: three witnesses record statements
Ujjain, MP, July 7 (UNI) A local court today recorded statements of three witnesses in Madhav College's Professor H S Sabharwal's murder in student violence last year.
CID's investigating officer V K Vyas, head constable Kailash Katiyar and constable Rajendra Kumar recorded their statements before Judge Girish Kumar Sharma's court.
Public Prosecutor Vikram Singh Sikarwar said Mr Vyas would be cross examined on July 12.
Prof Sabharwal was killed when he was attacked by students irked over postponement of student unions election on August 26, 2006. Six ABVP workers, including the then state ABVP President Shashi Ranjan Akela, were named accused in the case.
All the accused were arrested. Five accused are lodged in central jail, while one accused Vishal Rajoria has been released on parole for 15 days by the Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore bench to enable him attend his sister's marriage.
