No evidence linking Glasgow attack with IISc shootout yet

Bangalore, July 7 (UNI) The city police are yet to trace evidences to link members of local terrorist outfit in the city with the three Bangaloreans, including two doctors, detained in London and Australia in connection with the Glasgow Airport attack.

City Police Commissioner N Achyuta Rao told mediapersons here today that the police was only gathering evidences and analysing them.

No incriminating evidences were found so far, he added.

A senior official, however, told UNI that a probe was on to link the foiled Glasgow Airport attack with the December 2005 Indian Institute of Science shootout, in which an IIT Delhi professor was gunned down.

To a question, he said the police was not contacted by their counterparts in London in connection with the attack.

He denied reports that Maqbool Ahmed, father of detained siblings Sabeel and Kafeel, had admitted that Kafeel was the driver of the burning jeep at the Glasgow attack.

The said he had not received any such information from the probing team.

Maqbool Ahmed, who briefly appeared in television interviews, was not quizzed by the police as it was stated that he was 'mentally disturbed' and was not in a position to speak.
