Mayawati working with vengeance: Apna Dal

Lucknow, July 7 (UNI) Flaying the newly-elected Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in Uttar Pradesh, Apna Dal today asserted chief Minister Mayawati was unleashing vengeance on political apponents and her measures were not aimed at controlling crime.

Rebuffing the claims by Ms Mayawati, Apna Dal president Dr Sone Lal Patel alleged, ''Mayawati had promised the state would be made crime-free, but she has done nothing to stop criminalisation after regaining power.'' ''There is neither any improvement in the law and order situation. Her party is taking revenge, while the state police has gone wayward,'' he noted.

Mr Patel said the people were angry over the power and water crises and the sugarcane farmers were awaiting clearance of their dues.

''Our party would protest over these issues at the district headquarters on July 20,'' he announced.
