FIR filed against IPS officer

Thrissur, Kerala, July 7 (UNI) A special investigation team, led by SP V Muraleedharan Nair, today submitted FIR in the Vigilance Court here against IG Tomin Thachankari, stating that he had earned Rs 94 lakh disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The FIR said he made loss to the Government by misappropriating Rs five lakh in Stamp Duty and Rs 1.75 lakh in registration while working as the Managing Director of Kerala Books and Publication Service, during 2003 to 2005.

The FIR was prepared by examining records, seized during raids conducted in institutions related to Mr Thachankari, including the Riyan Studio at Kochi, owned by his wife, Anitha.
