Chargesheet against 6 in fraud case

Lakhimpur Kheri, July 7 (UNI) A chargesheet has been filed against six persons, including a city panchayat official, for fraudulently declaring a lady teacher dead in panchayat records here.

Shameem Bano, a teacher by profession, was fraudulently shown dead in the death record register.

In a written complaint to the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of police Shameem's husband Dr Shujat Ali Khan had alleged some persons, including employees of panchayat Kheri town, to put his wife's name in the place of another person in the record register.

Later, a death certificate was issued to terminate her services.

The accused, including former city panchayat president had been directed to appear in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate on July 10.

An order has also been passed to rectify the records and remove Shameem's name therein.

The accused were Ram Khelawan Bhargava, Ram Babu, Anees Ahmad, Gufran Ahmad, Salman Ahmad and Kazi Mumtaz Hussain.
