Chandrashekhar's condition critical

New Delhi, July 7 (UNI) The condition of former prime minister Chandrashekhar, undergoing cancer treatment in a city hospital, deteriorated late tonight, his family members said.

His condition is critical and he is in the ICU at Apollo hospital, his son Pankaj Singh said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited Mr Chandrashekhar at the hospital today and enquired about his health.

The former prime minister has been undergoing treatment in the hospital for Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cell.
