BJP, TDP stage protest against TTD's 'concept schools'
Tirupati, July 7 (UNI) The activists of Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP), Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Bharathiya Jana Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today staged a dharna in front of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) administrative building here to protest against the Devasthanams' plan to set up 'concept schools' in every district of Andhra Pradesh.
Police said the activists led by BJP leader S Srinivas, BJYM leader Bhanu Prakash Reddy and TDP leader R C Muni Kishore raised slogans against the TTD's move to establish 'concept schools' in the state by using the funds donated by pilgrims.
The leaders said as per the Temple Act, the funds donated by the pilgrims should be utilised only for 'dharmic' and propagation of Hindu religion.
