Asst.Engineer amass wealth over Rs.1.5 crore

Belgaum, July 7 (UNI) The Karnataka Lokayukta has raided the house of an Assistant Engineer in Belgaum and unearthed property and cash worth Rs.1.5 crore.

A case of amassing wealth disproportionate to known source of Income had been filed against the Asst Engineer, Mr Kumar S Doddamani in Belgaum, following the raid carried out on credible information, Assistant Director General of Police (lokayukta) said in a release here today. Mr Doddamani was in the Health Systems Development and Reforms Project of Government of Karnataka The official had residential houses in Belgaum and Davanagere valued at about Rs.one crore. Besides he had moveable properties worth Rs.25 lakhs, Vehicles worth Rs.five lakhs and cash of over two lakhs. Besides he also possessed gold and silver articles worth Rs.ten lakhs.

Some more documents unearthed in the raid were being verified, the release said.
