AP minister's son arrested in media assault case

Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, July 7 (UNI) Police today arrested Andhra Pradesh Excise Minister J Rammohan Rao's son, Raja, and his brother, Chinni, along with eight others for allegedly assaulting press persons, who were reporting the attack on a cinema theatre by them here last night.

Police said cases were registered against the minister's son, brother and his wife Vijaya Laxmi for allegedly assaulting the press persons, who had come to the spot to cover the incident.

The minister's son and brother were arrested and produced before the local court which granted them bail. However, the minister's wife was absconding, since this morning.

The arrested persons attacked the theatre damaging furniture, for not issuing tickets.
