Age was not criterion for learning Science: Prof Rao

Mysore, July 7 (UNI) Renowned Scientist Prof C N R Rao, calling upon the students to opt for studying Science, today said that age was not the criterion for learning science.

"If one shows interest with idea, inspiration and curiosity, that itself was sufficient to venture into the field of science," he added Speaking at a day-long 'let us learn science' programme organised jointly by Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research University of Mysore and department of Public Instructions here, he said that " if you students do not come forward and take up Science in future, the future of India would be in dark".

He said that the future belongs to nano technology.

More than 1,000 High School students of government Schools took part in the programme aimed at creating awareness among the students about the need and benefits of pursuing study in science.
