Jammu: 2561 pilgrims leave for Amarnath
Jammu, July 7: The sixth batch of 2,561 pilgrims today left for the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir Himalayas from the base camp here, official sources said.
The devotees, including 1773 men, 485 women, 100 children and 203 'sadhus', left in a fleet of 84 vehicles.
While the first group of devotees left for Nunwan and Baltal yatra camps at around 0525 hrs, the last one departed at 0605 hrs, the sources added.
With today's batch, a total of 13,702 pilgrims have so far left for Amarnath from here since the commencement of the 'yatra' on July 2.
